The Event

Hosted annually by the Vancouver Pride Society, the Pride Parade is an event that brings together members of the LGBTQ2+ community, friends, allies and supporters. The celebration of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Two-Spirit culture is just one of many festivals hosted by the society. The Pride Parade itself marked its 39th Anniversary in 2017 in Vancouver.

The goals of VPS include the promotion of self-awareness, visibility and the diversity of the LGBTQ2+ community. The society also strives to produce activities and public functions that embrace and reflect the pride that this community possesses. These events are used to strengthen the sense of community and also contribute to the health, well-being and vibrancy of every member of this community. As a non-profit society, the VPS raises thousands of dollars each year in support of other local charities and causes.

The Task

Twiisted Media has an unusual connection to the Pride Parade. We have been contracted by BMW over the past four years to create designs on their vehicles. The vehicles we create these designs for are used by the Pride Parade Grand Marshalls and are unique to each year. We design them to match the theme submitted to us for the upcoming event which results in a unique, one-of-a-kind, single use vehicle visual.
