Home » Premium Construction Hoarding Signage for OpenRoad Mercedes-Benz Surrey
For this project, Twiisted Media designed, produced, and installed a premium construction hoarding signage solution for OpenRoad Mercedes-Benz Surrey, supporting the launch of a new auto mall development. The hoarding measured an impressive 32 feet wide by 12 feet high, creating a bold, highly visible branding surface designed to capture attention from both pedestrian and vehicle traffic. Construction hoarding signage transforms otherwise plain or disruptive construction zones into polished, branded environments, and this installation was executed with both durability and visual impact in mind.
Fast Turnaround from Artwork to Installation
The client provided the artwork, and our team completed the project from start to finish within a tight 10-day timeline. Every step was carefully planned to ensure the hoarding was not only visually striking but also structurally sound. By balancing production efficiency with meticulous attention to detail, we delivered a professional, turnkey solution that reinforced the luxury branding of Mercedes-Benz even during the construction phase.
Structural Engineering and Support
The hoarding structure was engineered using heavy-duty 6×6 premium pressure-treated wooden posts, selected for their strength, longevity, and resistance to moisture and environmental wear. Each post was installed 4 feet deep into the ground and further reinforced with concrete, providing a solid foundation capable of withstanding wind loads and site conditions common in large-scale developments.
All vertical posts were installed perfectly upright, eliminating the need for angled rear supports and giving the back of the hoarding a clean, professional appearance. The hoarding was installed tightly against the existing fence, maximizing space and maintaining seamless alignment. To protect the lower posts visually, they were painted black, blending into the background and reducing distraction from the overall design. Additionally, side panels were installed to conceal structural components from side views, ensuring a polished, uninterrupted presentation from all angles.
High-Quality Aluminum Panels and Custom Graphics
The hoarding graphics were applied to aluminum panels, rather than traditional plywood, providing a durable, weather-resistant surface that maintains a premium appearance over time. The client-supplied artwork was custom printed directly onto the aluminum panels, delivering vibrant, long-lasting colors and sharp visuals. To further protect the graphics, an anti-graffiti laminate was applied over the panels, providing an extra layer of protection from vandalism, dirt, and environmental wear. This combination of aluminum substrate, high-quality print, and protective laminate ensures longevity, easy maintenance, and a professional finish that reflects the luxury branding of Mercedes-Benz.
Graphic Installation and Finishing Details
During installation, a countersinking technique was used so that all screw heads sat flush with the panel surface. Printed vinyl overlays were then applied on top of each fastener to conceal them, creating a seamless, polished visual finish across the entire hoarding.
The entire graphic installation was raised 16 inches off the ground to prevent obstruction from rocks or debris, ensuring the branding remained fully visible from all angles. These finishing details demonstrate our focus on both aesthetics and functionality, allowing the signage to make maximum impact while maintaining a clean, professional look.
Benefits of Anti-Graffiti Laminated Hoarding
Applying an anti-graffiti laminate over the aluminum panels adds multiple advantages: it protects the graphics from vandalism, makes cleaning easier, and extends the lifespan of the hoarding. This is particularly important in busy urban construction environments where hoarding is exposed to high traffic and potential damage. For premium brands like Mercedes-Benz, maintaining a clean, professional appearance throughout construction is essential to protect brand perception.
